What this criterion checks
Assesses whether it is clear where the user is within the application at any given point. Evaluates whether every page has a clear, descriptive title, whether navigation elements provide default hover, focus, and active states, whether the current section is always visually highlighted, and whether breadcrumbs or similar wayfinding aids are provided for easier navigation.
How it's assessed
The agent navigates across multiple sections of the application, capturing screenshots at each step. Using AI-powered vision analysis, it evaluates location awareness and checks whether users can see the system status needed to decide their next action and whether the lack of location information prevents users from feeling in control. It also checks for inconsistent patterns within the system, whether page components are placed consistently across page types, whether there is access to a history of previously visited pages or searches, and whether users can easily go back to a previous page or screen.
