What this criterion checks
Evaluates whether design elements such as buttons, icons, toggles, switches, dropdowns, tabs, and modals behave consistently across all sections of the application. This includes checking default, hover, focus, active, disabled, and loading states of buttons; link styling and behavior; icon meanings and actions; toggle and switch behavior; dropdown placement and selection behavior; tab and navigation menu states; and whether modals and dialogs open, close, and are positioned in the same way throughout the app.
How it's assessed
The agent navigates through the application following realistic user journeys, capturing screenshots at each step. Using AI-powered vision analysis, it compares the behavior of interactive elements across different sections and checks whether similar situations or actions produce inconsistent results, whether interaction patterns differ within the same system, and whether button placement is inconsistent across modals or dialogs. It also checks whether the same terms are used consistently, whether contextual menus use varying layouts, whether common UI components are designed differently from established conventions, and whether breaking conventions adds unnecessary cognitive load for users.
